Rewind to Easter

I know its already May but we are going to post about our Easter weekend spent with Sarah's parents in Salinas. We used the bike rack on our car for the first time and it worked out really well. You can't see it in the picture but I had to put a sock on one of the pedals so it wouldn't scratch the car.

We got into town in time on friday night to make it into the Good Friday service at Salinas Valley Community Church. It was a great set-up that people could walk through at their own pace and experience different parts of Jesus's journey and what we can take from it.

On saturday we drove up to Jacks Peak as recommended by Mark and Vicki. We were a little dissapointed to find that there wasnt really a good place to ride the bikes but we were able to go on some nice short hikes and see some good views of the ocean. Notice the no bikes on trails sign.

After the hike we headed to the ocean and rode our bikes up a down the coast a couple of times from Fisherman's Wharf to Lover's Point. The weather was perfect. I was just trying not to get mad at the people walking in the bikeway when they were supposed to be walking on the side path. I almost decked a little kid on a razor scooter.

To top the day off we met Mark and Vicki at A Taste of Monterey (Mark is a member). We each enjoyed a glass and shared a sample tray of meats and cheeses. The last time we were there we did some tasting, but this time we just went for what we liked.
Sarah was a little worried about getting back on her bike but we made it back to where we parked the car just fine. We were feeling pretty worn out.

Just to get things started

So here is a picture of Sarah and I at Sierra Summit from March..... just to get things started.

We've been meaning to start a blog forever and now we finally have the right motivation. The goal is to keep everyone updated on our adventures in Spain. Not to mention we are going on a mission trip to Uganda next month and will want to share that with you as well.
